A new version of System Architect has been commercially released

Product Announcement:

System Architect® 11.4.6
has been released

Dear Customer,

As a valued System Architect® customer, we want to let you know that a new version of System Architect has been commercially released. We continue to drive improvements into the product within themed areas to enable you to build and maintain a value-driven enterprise architecture. System Architect 11.4.6 provides the following enhancements:

Unified Architecture Framework (UAF): System Architect now supports UAF, the new framework introduced by the Object Management Group (OMG) to normalize the taxonomies and metamodels of Defense Architecture Frameworks such as DoDAF 2.02, MODAF 1.2, NAF 3.0, and the Canadian DNDAF 1.7. System Architect's support is a direct implementation of the UAF domain metamodel, and includes the new Security views incorporated in UAF from the DNDAF framework. The UAF is provided with the DoDAF add-in. An example Search and Rescue encyclopedia built using UAF is provided.
Web Reporting: SA XT now supports a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for building Reports. It has the ability to create 2-level reports to report on objects. The output is displayed in a table report that includes D3 charts for further visualization, and the ability to further drill down using D3 chart features.
Web drawing: Numerous enhancements have been made to the new SA XT diagram editor introduced with SA 11.4.5.2 (which supports creation and editing of all 'representationally consistent' diagram types for DoDAF 2, TOGAF 9.1 ArchiMate 3.0, and all 'representationally consistent' diagram types specified by the user via usrprops.txt). The SA XT diagram editor now supports:
Activation of duplicate checking based on stylesheet settings.
Symbol Alignment tools.
Zoom edit box.
Diagram Type and Name presented above tool boxes for easy reference.
Elliptical symbols now presented as such.
Type restrictions are now presented in the Choices list.
Zoom edit box.
SA now prompts to delete underlying definition on removing defined item on a representationally consistent diagram.
Node symbols and connected lines are removed on refresh where the underlying definition no longer exists.
Menu depictions are now presented on the draw toolbar.
Added ability to associate and dissociate BPMN Data Objects with other symbols.
Associative Options dialog on a BPMN diagram.
Changing fonts.
UML Sequence style diagrams.
Showing diagram background color.
Showing diagram grid.
Showing diagram ruler.
Symbol depictions on diagrams.
Name placement inside or outside of node symbol.
Web Reporting Dashboards: A Diagram Preview Gadget has been added to System Architect Gadget Catalog. This gadget is a Read Only diagram image that can be shown on your gadget dashboard. The image updates when changes are made to the diagram in SA or SA XT. Diagram Preview also has a link that allows you to open the Diagram in SA XT for editing. The gadget catalog is available with the SA XT Gadget Dashboard, or with OSLC integrations with other tools such as Focal Point™, IBM® Rational's RTC, Design Manager, and DOORS® Next Generation.
Web Reporting Dashboards: The D3 charts displayed in SA XT and SA Publisher can now have colors changed by the 'Name' field, as compared to only the 'Value' field previously supported. For example, for a bar chart with a count of definition types: Applications=3, Services=5, Software=3 -- Color by 'Value' sets Applications and Software the same color because they both equal 3. Color by 'Name' will have different colors for all because they all have different names.
Web Diagram Viewing: You can now pan anywhere on a web diagram image in in SA XT reader view, SA Publisher output, SA Diagram Compare, and SA XT Diagram Compare - despite the fact that clicking on a symbol would normally open the symbol's definition. Hold the CTRL or SHIFT keyboard key to make Panning possible on this type of output. (Release the CTRL or SHIFT key to use clickable symbols again.) Previously, you could not use the Panning feature to click and drag the diagram image because clicking would open the symbol's definition instead.
SA Definition Dialog Usability: A Type restriction option is now available in the SA Choices list where more than one type of item is supported by the target.
Licensing: The time period for when a license is checked over your network can now be adjusted. Slow or intermittent network connections can sometimes cause frequent license disconnect messages. To alleviate that, you can now increase the License Grace Period in your sa2001.ini file or session options setting LicensingGracePeriod to a max of 24 hours.
Licensing: This version of System Architect requires a new license for 11.4.6. However, an enhancement has been made so that from this point forward users will not need to change their license file for future releases in the 11.4 series.
Support for Windows 2016 Server and SQL Server 2017: System Architect now supports installation to Windows 2016 Server and provides support for encyclopedias created in Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Enterprise, Standard, Express, and Developer.
