As a valued System Architect® customer, we want to let you know that a new version of System Architect has been commercially released. We continue to drive improvements into the product within themed areas to enable you to build and maintain value-driven architectures. System Architect 11.4.5.1 provides the following improvements:
  • Web: Enhancements have been made to the new SA XT diagram editor, which was introduced in 11.4.5 to provide pure JavaScript-based drawing. You can now use gradient fills in symbols, load symbol colors from stylesheets, run duplicate check, and access diagram and symbol properties to specify such things as parent/child navigation, amongst other new features.
  • Web: All SA Publisher chart visualizations have been rewritten in JavaScript using the D3.js JavaScript library to give the charts a graphical refresh and eliminate the dependency on Java Runtime Environments. Charts also support ability for drill down - allowing you to select a subset of results of a report, and click a Drill Down button for a view containing only those selected items. In addition, SA Publisher output, which was made HTML-5/JavaScript based in version 11.4.5, now supports compressed SVG graphics of diagrams.
  • Web: The output of the HTML Generator, SA Compare, and Compare Diagram functions in System Architect have been rewritten in JavaScript to eliminate the dependency on Java Runtime Environments.
  • Security: Encyclopedia database connections can now be requested to be encrypted by the client application.
  • Frameworks: 10 new matrices have been added to the ArchiMate 3.0 support in System Architect.
  • Usability: The Matrix editor has been enhanced to make it easier to build custom matrices that feature an 'explicit join' relationship: a) there is now a means of specifying the direction of the relationship, and b) the matrix editor shows intelligent warnings when you try to build an incorrect matrix based on restrictions specified in a cell definition's CONNECTS property. You can also now specify the titles of columns and rows for all types of matrices that you are creating.
